The excellent research achievements in drug development and anti-tumor research of National Yang-Ming University School of Pharmaceutical Sciences means that many major pharmaceutical companies are coming to the campus to recruit new talent. During the 2020 NYMU Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences Graduation Season Campus Talent Recruitment, “TTY Biopharm” came to NYMU and held a recruitment seminar on May 28th. As a result of this opportunity, TTY Biopharm and the Institute of Biopharmaceutical Sciences are creating a scholarship program for the future with the aim of encouraging talented PhDs to contribute to the development of new talent in area of biotechnology.

“TTY Biopharm” has been focusing on the development of new drugs and novel dosages of drugs. Their current emphasis is on developments in the areas of anti-tumor and anti-infection drugs in the context of innovation. According to the media, their annual revenue in 2019 was 4.4 billion NTD. It is their intention to globalize and therefore TTY Biopharm places considerable emphasis on any applicants’ English ability. Over recent years the NYMU Institute of Biopharmaceutical Sciences has been actively recruiting International Students and this has created an English-learning environment, has encouraged intercultural interaction and has helped to equip the Institute's students with improved English skills. Therefore, TTY Biopharm has chosen the NYMU Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences as the first stop of their recruitment seminar tour.

As a consequence of the COIVD pandemic, many graduates are worried that job vacancies will not meet their expectations. Acknowledging this uneasiness felt by students, the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences invited TTY Biopharm to NYMU to introduce their summer internship program, which allowed students and graduates to learn about future job opportunities at TTY Biopharm. A total of 80 teachers and students participated in the meeting, both online and on campus.

NYMU has been active in academic exchange with prestigious universities in Vietnam for the past few years, and has cultivated many new talented individuals. As a result, the talent recruitment seminar for international students placed an emphasis on Vietnam. The talent cultivation strategy of TTY Biopharm is “Training in Taiwan, Returning with Power.” Admitted students will be trained at TTY Biopharm and then return to their country where they can become part of TTTY Biopharm marketing team in Vietnam.

NYMU has a solid plan for international talent training, and involves providing guidance for international graduates as they progress in their career development. NYMU also welcomes pharmaceutical companies from around the world to recruit talented individuals from the school and this will help to build better connections with more institutions in different countries. In the future, NYMU and TTY Biopharm will maintain a close relationship and continue to share with each other the current status of the global development in the areas of biotechnology and medicine by participating in regular academic lectures and organizing talks about the job market.
