[2019/05/15] NYMU Established a MOU with Universitas Indonesia to Expand Exchange and Cooperation Opportunities

NYMU and Universitas Indonesia will expand exchange and cooperation opportunities


As part of introducing one of the teaching hospitals that cooperate with NYMU, namely Cheng Hsin General Hospital, NYMU and Universitas Indonesia on April 5th officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOI). Based on previous exchanges between the Departments of Dentistry of the two universities, it is hoped that the exchange will quickly develop at a university-to-university level and the cooperation will be expanded into teaching and, research exchanges, as well as an increased numbers of teacher and student exchanges.


Founded in 1894, the Universitas Indonesia is the oldest and most prestigious university in Indonesia. The Schools of Dentistry of NYMU and Universitas Indonesia became sister departments in March, 2018 and there have been a number of preliminary exchanges.

President of Universitas Indonesia, Dr. Ir. Muhammad Anis M. Met, was invited by President Guo to join the “2019 Global Health and Sustainable Development Forum”, which was held by Cheng Hsin General Hospital and on the same day, the two Presidents signed the memorandum of understanding between the two universities.


Indonesia is the fourth largest country in the world and has a rapidly growing economy. Universtias Indonesia ranks as No. 1 in Indonesia and many of Indonesia’s political leaders and ministers have graduated from there. The cooperation between NYMU and Universitas Indonesia should help further the Taiwan-Indonesia relations at a number of different levels.
