The National Yang-Ming University Has Moved Up 17 Notches in the 2012 QS World University Ranking.

QS, the well-known British organization of university ranking, has recently published the latest world university ranking. The National Yang-Ming University has moved up to the 285th from the 302th in one year.

In contrast to the world university ranking conducted each year by the Shanghai Jiao Tong University's where the ranking is focused mainly on university's research performance, the QS Ranking places emphasis also on indicators which drawn more attention from students and general population. These indicators include university's research capacity, teaching capability, student employability, employer perception, and internationalization level. The National Yang-Ming University has markedly improved its employer perception in the last year in the QS Ranking. One of our strengths is the faculty student ratio, which ranks 34th in the world. Other strongholds like progress made regarding the academic reputation and citations per faculty in the last five years, are also noticeable, according to the Scopus database statistics.

In the year of 2007, the National Yang-Ming University was ranked in the QS Ranking around 400th place. Thanks to the efforts of all faculty and students, we are steadily climbing up in the Ranking and this year we have reached the 285th place. We will use the QS Ranking as well as other world university rankings as a guide to move forward in our university's growing path. We are dedicated to continue our efforts in pursuing the goal that our university will become one of the world's top universities in the future.
